General Nursing And Midwifery Course (GNM)

GNM Full Form is General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) is a job-oriented course. Still, it is just a Diploma program. It is meant to prepare general nurses who can efficiently perform as members of the health team and capable of dealing the competencies in both the hospitals and other such organizations. This programme will boost your career prospects. It is a 3 years long Diploma program.

As we all know Nursing is a noble profession. It is a hopeful area offering various job opportunities for female candidates. Nursing is an integral part of healthcare sector. Nurses play an important role in the smooth functioning of various healthcare setups.

So, after completing this GNM Course, successful candidates may register themselves as registered nurse or midwife with the state nurse registration council.

Admission Criteria

  • Age limit The candidate must be an unmarried female and should have completed the age of minimum 17 years, and not more than 25 years as on 31′ Dec-2020.
  • Education
  • The candidate should have passed 10+2 (percentage according to INC).
  • English is compulsory.
  • Students from science stream are preferred.
  • Registered ANM with pass marks.

How To Apply

Application forms must be filled up by candidates in their handwriting. Candidates must apply in a prescribed form supplied along with the prospectus. Applications found incomplete or not submitted on the prescribed form and those reaching after the last date shall not be entertained.
Following documents are required to be submitted:

  • Self Attested photocopies of 10th & 12th mark sheet.
  • Self Attested photocopy of 10th certificate (D.O.B).
  • Medical fitness from any MBBS doctor.
  • Self Attested photocopy of Character certificate from school.
  • Undertaking of expenditure from parents.
  • Caste Certificate for reserve category.

Termination of Training

  • At any stage after the admission, if it is discovered that a candidate has made a false or incorrect declaration or has suppressed vital information her admission will be cancelled.
  • Failure to carry out classroom assignments or practical work for reasons other than illness.
  • In case of grave misconduct and disobedience of rules and regulations.
  • The training is liable to be terminated if any student is found to be having any chronic ailment at anystage of training which was not detected during medical examination.

Clinical Experience

The clinical experience for students will be given at SANT PARMANAN D HOSPITAL CIVIL LINES, a multi specialty hospital of 153 beds. Students will also be posted to RHTC, NAJAFGARH for rural posting for one month and for one month an urban posting in a government hospital.
